MONDAY - APRIL, 11TH
On Monday, 11th April we arrived at the school "Pajuluoman Koulu". Marika picked us up at the door of the hotel and drove us there in her car.
At the school entrance there were some children who looked at us in surprise.
Then we met Elina, the teacher who accompanied us for two days and showed us around her school. She was wonderful to deal with at all times and we were very grateful for that.
The first thing that struck us about the school was the spaces and the materials. Everything was specially designed for children, with lots of places to relax and rest.
The classrooms are spacious.
María especially liked the music classroom. In fact, she couldn't help sitting at the piano.
Roberto also wanted to try what he felt like teaching at a school in Finland.
We met the staff in the teacher's room.
This is the cantine. We had lunch there and the food was delicious. The children are very well behaved also in the cantine, the space is large and bright. It is located in an area between the primary school and the kindergarden, because it is also used by the youngest children.
Then we went out to the playground with another teacher. They always go out to the playground, even when it's snowing. They stay in the classrooms during the break only when it's -25 degrees, but if it's -24 degrees, they go out!!

In the crafts class, we were very surprised by the students' autonomy. They have a wood workshop and a sewing workshop.
TUESDAY - APRIL, 12TH
On Tuesday morning we visited the music class again but this time Coin, the music teacher was teaching his class and we could see all the pupils playing different roles, some playing ukuleles, some playing guitars, one girl playing the piano, some singing and what we liked the most, some pupils playing a Finnish folk instrument, the "kantele".
Then Roberto and Olga went to the gym, and there they were attending a PE class.
The most exciting moment came at the end of the morning. We were lucky to be able to go with the year six´s students on a trip. We walked for a few minutes through a snowy forest and came to a beautiful place where there was a wooden shelter. There, some of the pupils had prepared a fire. We were grilling sausages which were delicious with a mustard sauce. It was a spectacular moment. How delicious the sausages were!
